Frequent Questions

How can I find out the names of polluters who contributed to a Superfund site (potentially responsible parties or PRPs)?

Superfund's information system, the Superfund Enterprise Management System, or SEMS, contains data on potentially responsible parties. The SEMS products include a selected set of “non-enforcement confidential” information and is updated by the regions every 90 days. This information is available through the Superfund Information System's "List 11 - Responsible Parties at CERCLIS Sites." List 11 is the list of responsible parties at Superfund sites that have received special or general notice letters from EPA. The List 11 displays the party name and address, and data on selected enforcement actions, if present, at the associated sites, as well as basic site information for each site. The list is updated monthly and you can request a copy of the list in PDF or excel format at http://www.epa.gov/superfund/sites/phonefax/products.htm.
